Byron Poem

"Butterflies"

For it was on a summer’s night,

She felt this way.

The dark sky showed off the moonlight,

As it was white with a shade of gray.

She saw the distant ocean,

As the city lights sparked that hour.

Yet it was he that flared her emotion,

Which was like a wildflower.

Time was the only concern,

Which made them leave.

However, that moment made her yearn

Something other than grieve.

This feeling made her bubbly,

As if it was meant to be.

Just like peanut butter and jelly,

She never wanted this the leave.

My romantic poem, “Butterflies”, was based off of imagination and feeling over reason. The renowned saying of “butterflies in my stomach” guided the emotions that were portrayed in this poem. Her feelings were all natural, which could also connect with the romantic tenant of natural over the artificial. In my poem, I wanted to demonstrate the atmosphere of a moment and a feeling that can relate to some people.
