Carlyle believes that heroes contain some of the wisest and courageous men. These are the men that should be recognized yet “not worshiped”. Carlyle has confidence in his thought that heroism leads people in the right direction and can result in inspiring other leaders. He even mentions followers of God gain strength through Him; “The great man, with his free force direct out of God’s own hand, is the lightning. His word is the wise healing word which all can believe in”. Carlyle connected heroism with God, and many believers can succeed and be the hero in their own way, which can encourage others.

“The Time called him forth, the Time did everything, he nothing-but what we the little critic could have done too!”
Everyone can a hero because each individual can make a change. It’s not based on looks, but the courage to take the time to make a strong difference and action.
